My Life as a Library Book

April 18, 2026 - 1PM-3PM

The Alcove, 189 Broadway, Providence, RI

The Biographical Library spotlights the documented lives of women and gender expansive people across time, geography, and discipline. This program extends that invitation inward:

What if your life belonged on these shelves, too? Participants aren’t just making art, they’re reflecting on legacy, identity, and possibility. They’re stepping into the role of subject, author, and creator all at once!

In this program, we turn the question to the audience, if someone wrote a book about your life, what would the cover look like? In this all-ages art program, participants will design their own future biography cover complete with title and imagery. What themes shape your story? What values guide you? What impact do you hope to have? Together, we’ll gather inspiration from the Biographical Library and imagine ourselves as part of the story. Registration required. Supplies are limited.
